4月20日に、またまたApple社の特許出願内容が公開された。
今度は「Activating virtual keys of a touch-screen virtual keyboard （タッチスクリーン仮想キーボードの仮想キーの起動）」
これ自体は「仮想キーボードのキーが押されたことをどのように判別するか」という内容らしい。
この出願書を読んでいて思いついたのは「仮想キーが人間の手の形に合わせてくれてもいいよなぁ」というアイデア。たとえば小指の長い人もいれば、短い人もいる。手の形を学習してくれればＱやＰの位置を微調整できる。
ハードウェアキーボードなら動かせないけど、仮想キーボードならキーの位置を自分の手の形に合わせることができるからね。「キーボード・エディタ」なんて設定ツールで、自分専用の仮想キーの配置をレイアウト。
このレイアウトデータを持ち歩けば、どのＰＣでもマイ・キーボードを使うことができる。
Newtonから始まったPDAという言葉のPは「パーソナル（誰か一人の）」の略とされることが多いけど、実際には「プライベート（私だけの）」のほうがシックリくる。
仮想キーボードのようにインターフェイスとして機能するものは、プライベートであってほしいと思う。
