リファロ
ペーパー・ディスプレイや超薄型電池が登場したけど、こういう素材を見てるとリファロが復活しないかなぁと思ってしまう。
1990年に京セラが発売したリファロは6穴バイブルサイズのシステム手帳でありながら、MS-DOSが走るという刺激的なマシン。表紙の裏に液晶画面、裏表紙の裏にカードスロットが付いたシステム手帳の格好をしている。
CPUは80186、MS-DOS搭載、JEIDA4.0 のカードスロット２基でLotus1-2-3が走った。80186って･･･組込みマシンのアセンブラをよく書いてたもんです。なつかしー。
入力は液晶にペン入力。入力方式は現在のザウルスの原型にもなっている。ゲームボーイのような十字キーとボタン2個も付いていて簡単なデータ・ブラウズはそれだけでOK。
何よりもリファロはシステム手帳なので「紙が挟める」のが面白い。いや、紙のリフィルだけでなくキーボードもリフィルだった。
しかもキーボードやポケベルなどのオプション・リフィルはケーブル接続ではなく、リフィルのように挟むだけで使うことができる「電磁カップリング」とか言うスゴイ インターフェイスだったのだ！ 京セラ、すごいぞ。
当時すごく欲しかったリファロ。
現在の技術を使ってリファロを再生してくれたら生ツバもんですなぁ。
リフィル見開きのタッチパネル液晶画面とか、交換リフィル・バッテリーとか。オペレーティングシステムは、もちろんNewton OSでね。
